Library Capital Campaign
Building a legacy today for the Library's tomorrow.
The Signal Hill Community Foundation would like to invite you to join us in the 2019 Library Capital Campaign. The campaign will help to create an endowment of funds for the new Signal Hill Library opened in August 2019. The 14,000 square-foot multi-use facility replaced the old library which was built as a fire house in 1931 and served as the City library for many years. The new Signal Hill Public Library serves as an anchor in the civic gateway which includes City Hall, the Signal Hill Park Community Center, the Signal Hill Youth Center, the Concerts in the Park amphitheater, and the beloved Spud Field.
The Future of Signal Hill
This great Library meets the changing expectations of library patrons who now use the library for not only research and educational needs, but also for social and community connections. Spaces in the new library function in a variety of ways and engage a wide audience of patrons from infants to seniors. The new library is a gathering space for the community and provide resources such as materials, computers and technology, learning labs, study spaces, rentable facilities, historic preservation opportunities and more.
There are two ways you can support the new Library and be a permanent part of this special facility: the Legacy Wall and Naming Opportunities. Check out the Library Capital Campaign Booklet (PDF) for additional details.
