Dial-A-Taxi

Dial-A-Taxi is an economical taxi cab service designed to provide demand responsive curb-to-curb transportation for disabled ambulatory Signal Hill residents age 18 and over, and seniors age 50 and over, who have no other means of transportation. A Transportation Application (PDF) is required to qualify for the service. Upon approval, the member is eligible to purchase a ticket book of five vouchers. Ticket books are purchased at a reduced rate based upon income.

Members pay the actual charges registered on the cab meter by using the voucher coupons just like cash, NOT to exceed $15 per ride. Members shall pay the driver cash only for those fares exceeding $15.

Dial-A-Lift

Dial-A-Lift Long Beach is a curb-to-curb, shared ride transit service exclusively for the mobility impaired residing in and traveling throughout the cities of Long Beach, Lakewood, Paramount and Signal Hill. Signal Hill residents who are at least 18 years of age, permanently mobility impaired and unable to board or access the Long Beach Transit fixed route bus system are eligible to apply for Dial-A-Lift membership. Persons must be able to wait at a curb up to 30 minutes.

Long Beach Transit has contracted Global Paratransit, Inc. (GPI) to operate Dial-A-Lift. Long Beach Transit certifies eligibility, manages membership, monitors the service and provides customer service support. GPI drivers are trained and sensitive to the needs of persons with disabilities.

Once your doctor has completed and signed the application, submit it to Long Beach Dial-A-Lift and you will be called to schedule an interview with a Dial-A-Lift administrator.
