The City of Signal Hill partners with local organizations to make a difference in our community. It is our policy to encourage and assist various civic, charitable, service and special interest organizations that contribute to the quality of life in our City.

Friends of the Signal Hill Library (FOSHL) is a non-profit organization that serves to promote, enhance, and support reading programs, quarterly AuthorTalks, and special events at the library for children and adults in the community. FOSHL holds regular used book sales, events, and more to support reading programs here in Signal Hill.

Signal Hill Community Foundation

The Signal Hill Community Foundation (SHCF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was founded in May 2001. The primary purpose of the Foundation is to support the City of Signal Hill by providing funding through grants, donations and corporate support for charitable, cultural, recreational and educational purposes to benefit the community within the boundaries of the City of Signal Hill. SHCF hosts several events annually, such as Concerts in the Park, the Ellen Ward Community Yard Sale, and more.

SH Historical Society

Signal Hill Historical Society

The mission of the Signal Hill Historical Society is to develop, promote, perpetuate and preserve the local historical background of the City of Signal Hill and its surrounding area. Meetings are on the third Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m., check website for location details.

Signal Hill Police Foundation

The Signal Hill Police Foundation was formed to create new outreach opportunities and support existing community outreach efforts of the Signal Hill Police Department in the interest of building strong "People and the Police" community partnerships. 100% of the Foundation's proceeds are invested back into the community.

Signal Hill Rotary

The Signal Hill Rotary unites people from a variety of occupations to exchange ideas and take action to improve the community while emphasizing friendship, integrity and service to others. Members are dedicated to "Service Above Self." The Signal Hill Rotary hosts an annual Backpack Drive for local students, supports the City's Brown Bag Program, and participates in the summer Concerts in the Park series. Meetings are every Thursday at 7:30 a.m. at Curley's Cafe (1999 E. Willow St. Signal Hill CA 90755).
