Council Member Keir Jones has lived in Signal Hill for the past ten years and is an active community member. His passion for public service and community involvement dates back to his early college years but was awakened during California's battle over Proposition 8 which banned LGBTQ marriages in California.
Prior to his election to the Signal Hill City Council in March of 2019, he served as the appointed City Clerk. During that time, he helped increase voter turnout in the November 2018 elections to one of the highest turnouts in decades. He continued that record-setting trend with his own election where he received an overwhelming 700 votes.
As a small business owner, Council Member Jones operates an award winning insurance agency. His creative and pragmatic leadership will ensure that he is both a dynamic and effective leader in the region on behalf of Signal Hill. In addition to his role as a Council Member, Keir's passion for service is rooted in the community where he has served on several boards. Currently, he is the President of the Signal Hill Community Foundation.
Council Member Jones lives in the Skyline Villas with his husband, Thomas-Michael, and his dog, Cooper.
