Captain Crigler began her career with the City of Signal Hill in 2005 as a part-time employee with Parks, Recreation, and Library and Police Volunteer at the Signal Hill Police Department. In 2006, she became a part-time Police Aide. Captain Crigler became a Police Officer in 2007 and was promoted to Sergeant in 2015, Lieutenant in 2019, and to Captain in 2025.
Captain Crigler held various assignments and ancillary duties throughout her career, including Las Brisas Community Officer, Field Training Officer, Senior Detective, Senior Police Officer, and Public Information Officer. She also taught anti-drug prevention and bullying education in our local schools for many years.
Captain Crigler holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Saint Mary’s College of California and a Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice from California State University of Long Beach. She is currently working on a second master’s degree in Law Enforcement and Public Safety Leadership from University of San Diego. Captain Crigler is a proud graduate of the Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute (Class 428) and California POST Command College (Class 73).
