Programs & Responsibilities
The programs and responsibilities that the Engineering Department is responsible for include:
- Administering an assessment district, such as the California Crown Landscape and Lighting District
- Planning and reviewing land development projects and subdivisions
- Planning, designing, and constructing all public facilities
- Providing engineering support services to other city departments
- Checking plans
- Conducting traffic engineering
- Developing and managing the Capital Improvement Program and departmental budget
- Issuing permits
- Managing contract services
- Managing pipeline franchises
- Providing survey and inspection services
