Wearing a mask is one of the most effective tactics we have to reduce the spread of COVID-19. While masks protect you from infection, wearing one can also protect everyone around you from getting sick. Masks remain mandatory in Los Angeles County in public spaces unless the individual is under two years old or medically unable able wear a mask. If a person is medically unable to wear a mask, keeping a six foot distance in public is also an effective tactic to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
Please tell us why you wear a mask, if you are able to wear one. It could be for you, someone special in your life or because you care about our community and want to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. We're encouraging all residents to do the following:
Option 1: Download and print this sign (PDF), and fill in the blank with why you wear a mask or who you wear your mask for. Take a photo of yourself in a mask holding the sign.
Option 2: Take a photo of yourself wearing a mask. In the caption or accompanying text, tell us why you wear your mask or who you wear your mask for.
Send us your photo via e-mail at email@example.com or you can message us on Facebook @cityofsignalhill! You could be featured in our newsletters, social media or our website! Thank you for doing your part in keeping our community healthy and safe. There are many other ways you can fight COVID-19, including socially distancing, washing your hands often, and avoiding crowds.
