Vaccines are now more important than ever with increased circulation of the highly transmissible Delta variant. The Delta variant is now the dominant COVID-19 virus in our region. This variant is more infectious, and unvaccinated individuals are highly susceptible to infection, severe illness and potential hospitalization. They are also more likely to spread the virus to others. Please get vaccinated if you are able. The sooner you get vaccinated, the sooner you are protected from the most severe outcomes of COVID-19 infection. L.A. County Public Health will require vaccination verification or a negative test within 72 hours prior to attending outdoor mega events. Starting September 20, 2021, all attendees at Indoor Mega Events with 1,000 or more persons must, prior to entry, show verification of COVID-19 vaccination status or a negative COVID-19 test. Starting October 7, vaccine verification will be required for customers and employees at indoor portions of bars, wineries, breweries, night clubs, and lounges. The modified Health Officer Order will require customers and employees at bars, breweries, wineries, night clubs and lounges to have at least one dose of the vaccine by October 7 and both doses by November 4. While not required, vaccine verification at indoor portions of restaurants are also recommended.
