Robert was sworn in for his first term as Signal Hill Council Member on March 21, 2017. He has been a resident of Signal Hill since 2002. He began his involvement with the City in 2008 when he earned an appointment to the City’s Sustainable City Committee, and has served as the chairperson of the Committee since that time. Wanting to increase his involvement with the City, Robert applied to fill the vacancy of the departing City Clerk and was appointed to it by the City Council. Soon after, in March 2015, he was elected to the City Clerk position by the residents of Signal Hill.
Robert has been an employee of The Boeing Company since 1998 and currently works at the Huntington Beach facility. Throughout his career at Boeing he has been responsible for environmental compliance, conservation, and management systems at several Southern California sites. Currently he is working on a company wide effort to standardize information technology efforts related to environmental compliance and safety management. In an effort to use his environmental compliance expertise for a public purpose, Robert applied to be a member of the South Coast Air Quality Management District Hearing Board in 2012. Earning the appointment, and subsequent reappointments in 2013 and 2016, Robert continues to serve as the Public Member Alternate on the Board.
Robert obtained a J.D. from Southwestern School of Law, an M.B.A. from Pepperdine University, and a B.S. in Chemistry from University of California at Los Angeles. He is admitted to practice law in California and is a registered patent attorney.
Robert is married and has two young children that enjoying living and playing in Signal Hill.
