In 2019, the City of Signal Hill will open its brand new, state-of-the-art public library on Hill Street next to Signal Hill Park. The 14,000 square foot multi-use facility will replace the old library which was built as a fire house in 1931 and served as the City library for many years. The new Signal Hill Public Library will serve as an anchor in the civic gateway which includes City Hall, the Signal Hill Park Community Center, the Signal Hill Youth Center, the Concerts in the Park amphitheater, and the beloved Spud field.
